The Michelin Guide's review
The Musée Marmottan-Monet is made up of the collections of art historian Paul Marmottan (works from the Renaissance and the Napoleonic era) as well as those of Dr de Bellio, who was a great friend of the Impressionists. The holdings were enriched by a number of donations of Impressionist works, in particlar by Claude Monet. These pieces, the majority of which were inspired by the garden at Giverny, are the museum's principal draw: water-lilies, wisteria, irises and other works testify to Monet's sensitivity to the vibration of light.
