The Michelin Guide's review
Pigalle, Paris' famous night-owl district, thanks to its trendy bars and boutique hotels, throbs to a unique vibe, poised between fashionable and transgressive. The Parisians now call South Pigalle, SoPi, in reference to New York's SoHo, South of Houston Street, such are its lure and appeal. The district's popularity and rise to fame of course date back to the era of the Moulin Rouge, an iconic fixture since 1889!
