Starting out from Saint-Jacques tower, the pilgrims to Compostela trooped out at a good pace along this road... Today a wide and straight road (in particular between the Sorbonne and the Louis-le-Grand school), it no longer looks like it used to, once rue Soufflot has been crossed.
