The Michelin Guide's review
This immense park was originally a game reserve for Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, who was expelled from Naples by Napoleon's troops. What remains today is a large 400ha park with a slightly abandoned air, which, despite the heavy traffic all around, has managed to retain a few quiet corners of greenery. Here, the king had a strange little Chinese palace (the Palazzina Cinese) built for his wife, Queen Maria Carolina, which has exotic decor and a curious architectural style.
