The Michelin Guide's review
The Ottobeuren abbey buildings were constructed between 1711 and 1731. The abbey palace, the fine library, the theatre and the Kaiser's Room with its painted ceiling depicting the coronation of Charlemagne are all worthy of note, as is the superb decoration in the museum galleries, which matches the architecture of the church. The museum is also interesting for its medieval artworks and the 15C to 17C paintings on display there.
