Visitors will see remains of the impressive perimeter walls built under Dionysius the Elder. The Roman settlement contains thermal spas, taverns and a rich patrician house decorated with mosaics. The basilica is an attractive arcaded building which appears to mark the site of the entrance to the Agora. Beyond is the theatre, built by the Greeks before being adapted by the Romans for gladiatorial contests.
