Ancient Spanish Monastery
Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's Opinion
A superb example of early Gothic architecture, the monastery of St. Bernard of Clairvaux was completed in 1141 in Segovia, Spain, and reconstructed on this site in the 1950s. The wrought-iron entrance gate opens on a lush subtropical garden. On the garden's southern perimeter stands the entrance to a long cloister. Don't miss the two rare circular stained-glass telescopic windows above the altar.
