The Michelin Guide's review
The splendidly revamped Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle is now home to a genuine urban garden planted with more than 130 different species. In its centre, Pradier Fountain (1848) symbolises the city in the form of an ancient goddess, whose crown is shaped like the Maison Carrée. The square is lined by the columns of the Palais de Justice (law courts) and cafe terraces, and opens onto the smart Avenue Feuchères, which links the historic centre and the train station.
