The Michelin Guide's review
Nimes cathedral was built in 1096, suffered major damage during the Wars of Religion and was almost entirely rebuilt in the 19C. Its façade has nonetheless retained a frieze, part of which is Romanesque, depicting scenes from the Old Testament. Inside the cathedral, the Chapelle du Rosaire behind the chancel dates from 1669. Beautifully renovated, the chapel is an excellent example of Baroque art in Nimes.
