The Michelin Guide's review
The neo-Classical Villa Pignatelli was built in 1826 in the style of a traditional Pompeii villa. It was acquired by the Pignatelli princes in 1867, and they lived here until the late 1950s. It is a remarkable example of a villa-cum-museum, boasting elegant and richly decorated drawing rooms. The furnishings (19C) compose a sumptuous collection next to the paintings and sculptures of the Banco di Napoli. In the gardens, the former stables are home to an interesting collection of carriages.
