Papineau Manor National Historic Site
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The manor was built between 1848 and 1850 by Louis-Joseph Papineau. It is an extraordinary structure with "castle like" towers. It remains home to solid wooden furniture that belonged to the Papineau family, particularly in the dining room and large sitting room. A fireproof library built in a four-storey tower once held Papineau's volumes. The estate's outhouses include a family museum, a tearoom and a granary.
