The Michelin Guide's review
A symbol of Monte-Carlo, the casino was part-designed by Charles Garnier in 1878 and its seafacing façade is an excellent example of Napoleon III architecture. This gaming paradise is also visited for the beauty of its rooms. The first halls were decorated by several fasionable 19C artists. You must see the opera-theatre opposite the hall, which is famous for the the Russian Ballets performances which were given there up until 1962 under the aegis of Diaghilev.
