The Michelin Guide's review
This confection of turquoise-coloured glass and concrete used to host the popular television series, The Jackie Gleason Show, from 1964 to 1970 was remodelled by Morris Lapidus in 1976. The 3 000-seat theatre is now the venue of Broadway shows and ballets. Look for Roy Lichtenstein's red-and-white-striped Mermaid on the south lawn. In the adjacent yard, a Hall of Fame displays cement plaques with the footprints of celebrities such as Chita Rivera, Julie Andrews and Miami Vice star Don Johnson.
