The Michelin Guide's review
Bordered on three sides by the temperate water of Biscayne Bay and the Miami River, the city's downtown doesn't really exude the bustling atmosphere of a Latin city. The mood is even positively sleepy the farther you stray from Bayside Market, the favorite spot of the cruise passengers. In the middle of the construction sites stand office towers and government buildings, whose wide-ranging styles span Neoclassical to Art Deco with a touch of Mediterranean Revival and contemporary architecture.
