The Michelin Guide's Opinion
Brickell Avenue is a broad, four-lane street with a central reservation planted with trees; it mirrors the course of nearby Biscayne Bay south of downtown. By the early 1900s, elegant estates began to spring up along the street, earning it its sobriquet "Millionaires' Row." Artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, Miami Beach developer Carl Fisher and politician William Jennings Bryan were among prominent residents; Chicago entrepreneur James Deering erected his palatial Villa Vizcaya south of the avenue.
