The Michelin Guide's review
At the centre of the Piazza del Duomo, this elegant, pre-Baroque-style fountain from the 16C is the work of the Tuscan, Montorsoli. Built to commemorate the opening of an aqueduct, it represents four rivers: the Tiber, the Nile, the Ebro and, lastly, the Camaro, the river in Messina, whose water was channelled here by the new aqueduct. Orion, the legendary founder of the town, stands guard over the fountain.
