The Michelin Guide's review
Old houses like the House with Seven Roofs, formerly the tanner's house, give the town its character. See the Marktplatz, flanked by the Steuerhaus and the town hall (1589), remodelled in the Rococo style in 1765. The house of the Hospitallers of St Anthony is also worth seeing. This Gothic building, with its arcaded courtyard, houses a museum devoted to the religious order and to the Strigel brothers, artists born in Memmingen.
