The Michelin Guide's review
The wealthy Sakai family made an active contribution to artistic creation in Matsumoto during the Edo period, and put together a huge collection of Japanese art. The collection includes ukiyo-e woodblock prints ("pictures of a floating world"). Don't miss a trip to the elegant JUM, which is bathed in a soft light designed to protect the works on show.
