The Michelin Guide's review
Les Martinières were places of education for young girls and boys built from the early 19C in India and in Lyon with the legacy of Claude Martin, who made his fortune in the trade of indigo in particular. With its multi-coloured mosaics and wrought-iron gate, this Martinière school for girls, built in the early 20C, is a showcase of Art nouveau architecture.
