The Michelin Guide's review
Lodged on a campus in the foothills between Westwood Village and Bel Air, UCLA began in 1882 as a regular state school in downtown Los Angeles. Today UCLA is the largest member of the University of California's ten-campus complex, with a total enrolment of more than 43,000 students. Crowning the highest point on the campus, Royce Quadrangle is bordered by the university's earliest, Italianate structures. In the heart of campus is the Bruin Bear, a massive bronze cast of a snarling grizzly, the campus symbol.
