The Michelin Guide's review
This neo-Gothic castle was built in the 19C for Baron Charles van Caloen. King Albert and his family stayed here in the autumn of 1918, and it was here that the sovereign promised to establish universal suffrage. Note the fine collection of artworks, including paintings from the Flemish and Dutch schools. Jan van Caloen's collection includes religious sculptures (13C-16C) of various origins. The park features a maze.
