The Michelin Guide's review
Originally an unremarkable thoroughfare, King's Road owes its name to Charles II, who improved it to ensure faster access to Fulham, home of his mistress Nell Gwyn; it remained a private road until 1830. It is now the main commercial artery of Chelsea, renowned for its fashion boutiques, antiques shops, restaurants and pubs. The little streets on its north side are bordered by traditional houses originally built for artisans.
