The museum is dedicated to Jewish culture and the local history of the community from the Norman conquest (1066) to the present day. There are four themed sections: the Welcome Gallery provides information on Jews today; A Living Faith exhibits a stunning collection of religious items; A British Story tells the story of the Jewish community in Great Britain; and The Holocaust Gallery retraces the history of Jews in Nazi Europe. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions.
