The Michelin Guide's review
In a solitary clearing stands the memorial raised to the victims of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, erected in 1946. There is a documentation centre at the entrance with a permanent exhibition telling the story of the camp. The monument made of pale tuff comprises an obelisk with inscriptions in thirteen languages honouring the memory of those who fell victim to the Nazis' extermination policy, the best known of whom is Anne Frank.
