The Michelin Guide's review
Recognisable by its imposing gallery with caryatids, St George's Hall (1854) is famous for its flamboyant vaulted concert hall fitted out with an organ and chandeliers, where balls, fairs, banquets etc are held. Head up to the tiered seats on the third floor for a bird's-eye view. Shows and concerts are held in another, equally sumptuous, hall. Part of the building houses courtrooms.
