The Michelin Guide's review
This fine 18C building, once a silk factory, has been renovated in a sober, elegant manner by the architect, Sommer Ribeiro. The museum presents a rich collection of works by Maria Helena Vieira da Silva (1908-1992), who spent much of her life in Paris, and by her husband, the Hungarian artist, Arpad Szenes. The museum regularly holds temporary exhibitions dedicated to artists with connections to the two painters.
