This square was designed in 1751. It is uniformly surrounded on three sides by three-storey houses with simple limestone façades each embellished with a red-brick alcove below an oculus. Originally these houses belonged to Limerick's wealthy citizens, who summered in Kilkee; now restored, they are the property of lawyers, judges and doctors.
