The Michelin Guide's review
At the end of the 19C, this district of handsome 1900 villas was Lima's top seaside resort, made fashionable by wealthy Italian immigrants. A perfume of this vanished era of bourgeois extravagance seems to linger still in the lanes and along the seashore promenade, where the iconic emblem of La Punta stands: an extravagant Moorish-style palace, the Rospigliosi Villa. Countless little cafés and a few restaurants serve delicious Peruvian and sometimes Italian cuisine.
