In the middle of a formal park, the buildings bear witness to the power of the coalmines in bygone days; built by an architect from Lille, Cordonnier, in an Art deco style, they are adorned with skylights, gables with redans, oriels, etc. Today, it houses the Jean-Perrin Science Faculty of Artois University.
