The Michelin Guide's Opinion
The Royal Armouries Museum was opened in 1996 to house part of the national collection, part of which is also displayed at the Tower of London. It exhibits a vast array of weapons to a backdrop of original decoration. Its galleries are devoted to the themes of war, hunting, tournaments, defence and Asian weaponry. Its more unusual exhibits include Japanese armour presented to James I in 1614, and an impressive, almost complete set of armour for an elephant.
