Espace Oscar-Niemeyer-Le Volcan and library
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Created in 1961, in 1982 Le Havre's cultural centre was transferred to the amazing structure designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, father of Brasilia. This iconic structure, made up of two white curved concrete masses that are accessible via a series of sloped walkways, is home to Le Havre National Theatre (Le Volcan). The next-door Petit Volcan houses an extensive library that is both modern and comfortable.
