The Michelin Guide's review
In the second largest area of marshland in France after the Camargue, canals and aquatic plants stretch as far as the eye can see. It occupies 7,700 of the 40,000ha of the Regional Park of Brière, which is just north of the Loire Estuary. You can explore this protected area, near the beaches of La Baule, on foot, on horseback, or in a barge. Don't miss the marshy prairies of Fedrun Island or the thatched cottages of Kerhinet.
