The Michelin Guide's review
Named by Jacques Cartier in 1535 for its abundant hazel trees (coudriers), this enchanting island has not lost its peaceful, rural character. It can be toured (26km/16mi) by car or bicycle. Remnants from a former era, beached schooners, dot the coast. The Musée les voitures d'eau (Schooner Museum) will give you an insight into the region's maritime history.
