The Michelin Guide's review
This romantic medieval castle is ideally located overlooking a tributary of the Berounka in the heart of a dense forest. Built in the 13C to satisfy Emperor Charles IV's passion for hunting, it was modified in the 15C and 16C in a late Gothic style. The castle still possesses a fine collection of paintings and sculptures from this period, as well as a superb chapel in the southern wing of the inner courtyard.
