Archaeological Museum in Kraków
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
A well-presented museum making excellent use of subtle lighting techniques, as typified in the Egyptology section on the first floor. Upstairs, the exhibits relate to the population of the Malopolska (Little Poland) region, presented along thematic and chronological lines in an informative manner. The section on funerary rites has the museum's masterpiece: Swiatowid Zbruczanski, a four-sided carved stone obelisk (10C BC) found in the Ukraine in 1848.
