The Michelin Guide's review
The very photogenic, and recently restored, the Broeltorens, or Broel Towers, were once part of the fortifications destroyed by Louis XIV in 1684. They protected the bridge over the Lys (rebuilt after the First World War). The south tower dates from the 14C; the north one from the 15C.
