The Michelin Guide's review
This oasis of calm, splendid in spring when the rhododendrons are in bloom, was commissioned by Christian IV in 1606. The king felt rather hemmed in in the city, so he decided to build a home outside its boundaries, which eventually evolved into Rosenborg Slot. It stands in vast, manicured grounds. Children love it because of the puppet show.
