The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This huge hexagonal church, which can hold up to 12 000 people was designed by Dáithí P. Hanly and consecrated in 1976. The tower, which houses the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, is crowned with a beautiful slender spire. The external covered ambulatory lies on 12 pillars of red Mayo granite and 32 stone pillars from all 32 Irish counties. The rest of the church is divided into five chapels.
