The Michelin Guide's review
The south and west parts of this L-shaped street have no unity of style and include many local architectural features as well as more elaborate Georgian-style details. At the end of the street is the tolbooth, with metal yokes chained to the wall, used to attach prisoners by the neck, and the market cross, a reminder that Kircudbright is a market town.
