The Michelin Guide's review
Rudimentary, as were many castles in the 15C, this one is in fact just a fortified keep, now very well restored; it was formerly the seat of the O'Donoghue Ross clan. It provides an insight into rural life in feudal Ireland with period furniture and building methods, such as the ingenious wicker device that was used to coffer stone arches.
