Ceramics Museum, Istanbul
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The Ceramics Museum occupies a charming 15C building that was originally part of the harem of the Topkapi Palace. Its façade is covered in an attractive blue and white calligraphic frieze. Often ignored by visitors, this small museum is well worth a visit for the fine ceramics from Iznik, Kutahya and Canakkale, ranging from the 12C to the 20C. The most interesting room is the mihrab from the mosque of Ibrahim Bey in Karaman (1432).
