The Michelin Guide's review
The museum is spread over six separate buildings, linked by short tree-lined paths. Since 1974, Inoue Shigeyoshi has accumulated a priceless collection of over 80,000 toys from 145 countries. Beautifully displayed, large numbers of popular Japanese toys (hina dolls, puppets, kites, temari (thread balls), soft toys made out of silk) rub shoulders with dolls' houses and Christmas toys from all over the world. In one room, young and old can play with old wooden toys, most of which are unique.
