The Michelin Guide's review
Harewood House (1759) is an example of Palladian architecture. The essentially neo-Classical interior is one of the finest works of architect Robert Adam (1728-92), who completed it on his return from Italy. The gallery is the most handsome room in Harewood that he created. In addition to the many paintings by masters, there is a beautiful collection of China and Sèvres porcelain. A bird garden and tropical hothouse are to be found in the grounds.
