The Michelin Guide's Opinion
The first railway line in the Netherlands, inaugurated in 1839, ran between Amsterdam and Haarlem, at which time a wooden railway station was built outside town. In 1842, a second station was built on the current spot, that was in turn replaced by the Art nouveau edifice you can see today, built from 1905 to 1908.
