The Michelin Guide's review
Built for Admiral Boscawen in 1758, this house's interior is classic Robert Adam with a hint of French style (frescoed dining room). Its furniture, pictures and sculpture create an ambience of Regency elegance. The fine Cobbe Collection of historic keyboard instruments takes pride of place in the music room. Designed by Humphrey Repton, the park is criss-crossed by avenues and wooded paths; the little French-style garden is by Gertrude Jekyll.
