The surrounding mountains form a vast cirque that closes the valley behind this picturesque lake. A quiet road leads to the lake. Less touristy than the region's other sites, this small lake overlooked by the Totes Gebirge offers an opportunity for gentle strolls along its shores, where you can observe the beautiful reflections of the trees and mountains in the water (allow 2hr for the walk). Waymarked footpaths, leading to various refuges, add further to the enjoyment of this delightful site.
