The Michelin Guide's review
One of the largest megalithic burial places in Europe was unearthed in 1924 in this pretty, shady park. A 20m-long dolmen corridor, buried beneath a tumulus on which a chapel was built in the Middle Ages, houses a Neolithic tomb (4,000 BCE). The site was occupied by humans from prehistoric times to the 1945 liberation. There is also an Archaeology and Geology Museum, which presents artefacts discovered during excavations, and a memorial-museum established in an underground bunker.
