Glamis Castle is a shining example of a Scottish castle; it is also associated with the Royal Family (as residence of the Queen Mother's family). Seen from the end of a tree-lined avenue, the castle is very impressive. Its towers, turrets, conical roofs and chimney stacks mark the skyline, and the central part dominates the whole building. A guided tour leads visitors through rooms decorated with numerous portraits and a host of objects.
