San Francisco Plantation
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The eye-catching exterior style of this plantation house (1856), with its decor of latticework, scrolled cornices and balustraded captain's walk, was dubbed "Steamboat Gothic" for its resemblance to riverboats passing on the Mississippi. The interior is restored to its 1860s' appearance, when the sugarcane plantation was at the height of its prosperity.
