The Michelin Guide's review
Founded in the 14C by Florentine banker Niccolò Acciaioli, this large charterhouse was modified on numerous occasions up to the 17C. Most of the church is open to visitors, although one part dating from the 14C remains the monks' private area. Don't miss the parlour, where the monks were allowed one hour of recreation a week, the chapterhouse (note the fine funerary monument) and the monastic cells which open on to the great Renaissance cloister, adorned with medallions by Giovanni della Robbia.
